This week, the Senate is holding votes on some executive branch nominations. Floor Action:¹ Monday: The Senate will vote at 5:30 pm to confirm the nomination of Mayor of Boston Marty Walsh to be Secretary of Labor. Tuesday: The Senate will vote to invoke cloture on (and confirm) the nomination of Shalanda Young to be Deputy Director of the Office of Management and Budget. The Senate will also vote to invoke cloture on the nomination of Vivek Murthy to be Surgeon General.
